Gregg
Lauer has been working prolifically in the visual
arts and photography for over 20 years, using both traditional and
digital media. His early career focused on freehand architectural
rendering and mixed media portraits (a pair of Lauer portraits of
President and Nancy Reagan hangs in the White House Collection).
Lauer then focused fully on fine art and illustration as a pastel
painter. The magical vision that characterizes his work began to emerge
at this time. He illustrated the Ben Franklin Award winning children's
book WolfStar, by author Donna Chimera, and was represented in over
20 galleries throughout the United States, and had dozens of multiple
and one-man shows. Lauer’s images were picked up by a number
of publishers at that time and reproduced as lithographs, posters,
greeting cards and the like.
In the mid 1990’s Lauer leaped fully into the digital age bringing
his imaginative style to the world of pixels. Lauer’s been recognized
in numerous publications and books for his fanciful PhotoShop work,
including the last two editions of Adobe PhotoShop Studio Techniques,
on Adobe Press.
